Fall's Over

Here are the views from our front and back porches.

I think we got 5-8 inches. I'm not sure though because no one will say on the news. At least you can tell that we have good snow clearing crews. Happy Halloween!

Aack! I can't believe it! I would be packing up the moving boxes if I were living there. Then again, we had freezing temperatures overnight and I'm still living here.... I need to move to California or Florida or something.
Are you guys going sledding this weekend?

I'm jealous.

Well, winter isn't my least favorite season, that would be summer, so California and Florida are not in my plans. But I'm not super excited about all this snow so early because fall is my favorite season. I'm not sure about sledding around here. Most people opt for the classier skiing or rougher hockey. However. I can do neither of those two, so sledding is my winter sport.

Oh, and we're supposed to get another 6-10 inches today. Seeing kids going door to door through all this snow on Halloween is going to be so bizarre.

I'm with you Monica, I'd rather live in snow than in hot weather!

Maybe all the kids dress up as eskimos.

Snow? I am jealous.

Also, you can tell you live in a "Northern" town when snow falls and no one makes a big deal of it. Was school canceled? I remember when I first moved to Ohio then when I moved to Indiana that I found it funny when people freaked out at two inches of snow. When I lived in Michigan, snow was not an excuse to stay home from work and school was only canceled if the buses couldn't get down the main roads.

Yeah, we're pretty much as north as it gets in New York. It's pretty isolated up here, and during the summer and fall I found myself wondering why. Now I know. Our neighbors all shuffled out this morning and started shoveling like it was no big deal. I was in awe.

School was on a two hour delay and then was canceled. I think it's because they are expecting so much more snow today. But I'm happy about it because David got to stay home and rest.

As much as I dislike snow, it really is beautiful to look at!
